How many of us are aware of village life? How many of us are actually willing to spend a couple of months in a village? Hmm, well, it might evoke a mixed response. What is a village?

Their lifestyle was totally different from ours. Despite facing challenges and lack of infrastructure, our parents and grandparents executed their duties well.
Schooling was not for all back then. That was the period when only ZPHS (Zilla Parishad High School) schools were the only Government / state level recognised schools. Even if they could, they had to abandon their studies in the middle due to financial reasons and marriage. Only a handful had their dream of education fulfilled.
For example , there are some villages near Bhadrachalam and close to Chattisgarh border where the simplicity of villagers and their life still reflects even to this day. The houses of the villagers usually have a separate section to store food grains. Technology was close to zero. Only gadgets that could be seen were a few transistors and tractors, those who could afford it. Electricity took ages to reach homes but lanterns and kerosene lamps kept illuminating their homes and hearts. Spending time with family and neighbours was so charming and people in fact did feel for each other. The house was the most beautiful thing. Even when our parents moved to cities, they proudly used to tell us and others about their village life and the house they still own. Well, things have changed, for us and not for them.
The present generation - what is holding us back?
We are currently in the year 2023, the age loaded with chaos, traffic, busy lives dependent on technology. This is the era that has replaced human emotions and interactions with smartphones. We are accountable for such misery, with no great escape. With rampant advancements, our likings have undergone a huge change. The concept of village is fast fading out because of the development policies adopted by the government. That vibe is now missing.
- The older generation too is now migrating to cities attracted by so called comfortable life.
- Urban life feels more luxurious
- Some of us dislike the village environment (due to bad infrastructure and lack of opportunities.)
- In most cases the village property is disposed of before migrating to cities.
